It can also be used used on items that has not been designed for a brick ledge to replace stucco or vinyl siding. It is available in multiple colors.
Why Natural Stone?
There is a big question out there that goes something like this: “Why use natural stone if imitation looks just as good?” I can agree only when considering the difference in total cost to install. Fake stone is much more economical to install, not to mention faster, than full dimension stone. However, with natural stone you never have to worry about weathering, broken edges or warranties. With natural stone weathering only adds to the beauty, broken edges reveal more stone and warranties on thousand year old materials seem trivial.
As the countless choices are considered in stone applications, it is my opinion, natural stone is the only option. There is no comparison to natural stone in beauty and longevity. For many, this is no revelation but there is still the prohibitive issue of cost. Tennessee Stone Harvesting is providing the solution to this problem.
Tennessee Stone Harvesting brings the best of natural stone and fake stone together with our 100% natural Thin stone veneer. We start with natural stone then cut it to the appropriate thickness which, in turn, significantly reduces its weight. This translates into an application process identical to fake stone. So, you can now have natural stone for a comparable price to that of fake stone. This does not in any way diminish the appeal of natural stone but simply increase the affordability. Our innovative process increases the usable product from each stone and therefore reduces the material and application costs.
With this is mind, maybe the question changes to: “Why would you NOT use natural stone?”

Cubic Footage Per Ton Of Building Stone & Flagstone
*15 cubic feet per ton, or 133 lbs. per cubic foot
Note: The true cubic footage weights are 145-160 pounds per cubic foot, for solid unbroken stone, or about 13 cubic feet per ton on average. Being unlikely that you will be able to stack the stone that tightly, using the true numbers would result in an erroneous quantity being delivered to your site, further resulting, upon completion of the job, in hostile thoughts being pointed in our general direction, therefore, we have adjusted this number to be more consistent with reality in order to circumvent those aforementioned hostile thoughts and have happy customers in perpetuity. So you don't have any leftovers we thought it best this way.
Formula Basics
Convert all measurements from feet and inches into their decimal equivalent in feet only. Example: You have a measurement of 6' 9" (9"/12") + 6' = 6.75'
Formulas
Square Footage (squares & rectangles)
(length x width) = Square FootageSquare Footage (circles)
(radius x radius) 3.14159 = Square FootageSquare Footage (right triangles)
(1/2 x width) length = Square Footage
Cubic Footage
(square footage x depth) = Cubic FootageCubic Yardage (cubic footage / 27) = Cubic YardageCircumference of a circle (diameter) 3.14159 = Circumference
Calculate Product Quantity Needed
Gravel, Mulch, Sand & Soils
1) Figure out the square footage to be covered
2) Multiply the square footage by the depth desired to get the cubic footage
3) Divide the cubic footage by 27 to get the cubic yards needed
Example: A rectangular landscape bed is 12' 8" long and averages 5' 6" wide and the depth desired is 2 ½" deep.
(12.66' x 5.5) = 69.3 square feet
(69.3 x .208) = 14.414 cubic feet
(14.414 / 27) = .534 cubic yards needed
Flatwork (Patios, walls, etc.)
1) Figure out the square footage to be covered
2) Get the coverage per ton of the product desired
3) Divide the square footage needed by the coverage per ton
Example: A patio or wall is 20' long and 8' wide or high and you would like to use Buff Patio flagstone that has a coverage of 110-130 square feet per ton.
(20' x 8') = 160 square feet
Average coverage is 120 square feet per ton
(160 / 120) = 1.333 tons needed
Stacked Stone Walls & Waterfalls
1) Determine the average length, the average height and the average width of the stone in feet
2) Multiply the length by the width by the height to get the cubic footage
3) There is about 15 cubic feet in a ton of building stone or flagstone so divide the cubic footage by 15 to determine the quantity of stone needed in tons
Example: A 20' long stacked stone wall that is 1' thick and 2' tall
Length = 20', Height = 2', Width = 1'
(20' x 2' x 1') = 40 cubic feet
(40 / 15) = 2.667 tons of stone needed
